ASTUCON 2017 - Official Announcement

2nd Academic University Student Conference 2017

15-19 November 2017, Larnaca, Cyprus

Venue: Palm Beach Hotel, Larnaca

The Academic University Student Conference is designed to provide a platform for university students to participate in a conference either through presenting their own work, projects, theses, or through attending lectures and workshops, thus promoting a platform for students to share their work/research, connect with other social circles with which they have a shared interest and moreover promoting the cooperation between the students from different universities and countries.

The conference was organised for the first time as a local event in Cyprus open also to students from Greece. The result was higher than expected with more than 800 participants. The fact that such events are rare in the International arena the organisers decided to develop this conference into an international event, starting with 2017.

The main organisers of the conference is the European Association of Erasmus Coordinators (EAEC), the European Association of Career Guidance (EACG) and THALES Foundation.

The conference’s sessions shall consist of different thematic areas, similar to the ones organised in 2016 but new ones may be formed after the submission of abstracts and proposed sessions. More information about the submission of abstracts for sessions and presentations will be available soon.

The language of the conference will be the English language. However, for some thematic areas, sessions in other European languages may be considered, if proposed.

ASTUCON 2017 is under the auspices of the Minister of Education and Culture of Cyprus, Mr. Costas Kadis.

This will ultimately lead to work opportunities and empowering youngsters to making informed decisions about which career paths to pursue.

Goals and target

Pitch Bootcamp has the goal of empowering youngsters by capitalizing their talent into building great, successful careers. It acts on filling the gap that exists between companies and students or recent-graduates, by connecting them in a very particular and unique environment. Pitch BootCamp acts mainly on two levels: life-long empowerment and creating actual work and job opportunities.
